Caramel Pop Corn

Hello. This is my first recipe that I'd like to share in my blog. This recipe comes from combining caramel and candy. I think this caramel recipe can be used for make candy, but I never try it out. Well, since I ever read about popcorn that good for snack so I start to made popcorn. Actually, my popcorn not really good enough for health because consist of a lot sugar but you can make it healthier by skip the caramel.

Ingredients
250 grams of corn (special corn for popcorn)
200 ml canola oil ( actually I never measure it, 😀hehehe...)
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup palm suiker/ dark brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanila
1 tsp baking soda

Directions
1. Heat the canola oil in the large pan. Put the corn into the pan and close the pan. Leave it until no sound leave. It's mean all the corn has popped.
2. Heat the other ingredients except the baking soda until beautiful brown color and caramelized.  Add the baking soda and quickly stir till combine. Pour the caramel into the popcorn and stir combine. Move the popcorn into baking pan until cooling.
3. Keep the popcorn into jar and ready for watching movie. Hehehe...

Tips
1. You can use other vegetable oil instead of canola oil or you can use butter too. But, as my experience using butter to make popcorn taste savory but it left "unpoping" corn.
2. Spray your baking pan with oil so the caramel not sticks to the baking pan.
